In order to deepen educational cooperation between Taiwan and Thailand, promote industry-academia exchange, and raise the visibility of Taiwan’s higher education in Thailand, the “2025 Taiwan Higher Education and Career Fair” was held on August 30 and 31, at the Samyan Mitrtown Hall in Bangkok.
The event, which was guided by the Taiwan Ministry of Education, was led by Ambassador Peter Sha-li Lan of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand and President Chin-Lung Chang of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST). A total of 176 representatives from 39 public and private Taiwanese universities and colleges—including National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, National Chengchi University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Sun Yat-sen University, Tamkang University, Ming Chi University of Technology, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, Cheng Shiu University, and Shu-Te University—participated in the expo together with twelve Taiwanese companies. The event drew over 1,500 students, teachers, parents, and education professionals from Thailand, successfully showcasing the strengths of Taiwan’s higher education system.
This year’s education fair featured 39 renowned Taiwanese higher education institutions and integrated career resources by inviting 12 Taiwanese companies to recruit Thai-speaking talent. These companies provided internship and career consultations to help Thai students plan their trajectories for professional development after studying abroad. The Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu (SC-TOP) also had a booth set up to provide prospective students with information on Mandarin learning and proficiency testing.
In his speech, Ambassador Peter Sha-li Lan highlighted the long-standing and profound relationship between Taiwan and Thailand, expressing optimism about the limitless potential for future bilateral academic cooperation. Mr. Hann-Chuan Chen, Chairman of the Thai Taiwan Business Association, shared his hopes that the Thai students who receive a Taiwanese higher education will return home and contribute to the progress of various industries in Thailand.
NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang extended his gratitude to the Thai government and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand for their assistance and guidance. He noted that the education fair provided a crucial platform for students, parents, and teachers to engage directly with representatives from Taiwanese schools and gather valuable information about studying in Taiwan.
Academic exchange and knowledge sharing between Thailand and Taiwan have a long history, making them close academic partners. NPUST was honored to serve as a bridge for this two-way educational link and contribute to the cultivation of international talent. The university encourages Thai students to come and experience its commitment to innovation and sustainable development.
