The NPUST International College grandly held a graduation ceremony for its class of 2025 on the afternoon of June 14, warmly congratulating them for their hard work paid off. A number of honored guests were in attendance including Saint Kitts and Nevis Ambassador Donya L. Francis from, Saint Lucia Ambassador Robert Lewis of and his wife, Head of the Information and Protocol Division of the Thailand Trade and Economic Office, Mrs. Rachit Sriudomporn, and the Commissioner of the General Affairs Department of the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office to Taipei. The ceremony was presided over by NPUST’s President Chin-Lung Chang, Dean of the International College Jik-Chang Leong, Director of the Department of Tropical Agriculture and International Cooperation Rebecca H. Chung and other teachers from the college. Although the Ambassador of Belize was unable to attend the event in person, she did send a recorded video to offer her sincere blessings and convey her heartfelt warmth to the graduates.
In his speech, NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang encouraged graduates to continue their independent learning and bravely embrace future changes in order to respond to AI technology and global challenges. He emphasized that self-learning capabilities, critical thinking, and the ability to take action will be essential for competitiveness in the future workplace. He also expressed hopes that students from NPUST would become forces of change.
Dr. Robert Lewis, Ambassador of Saint Lucia to Taiwan, also delivered a speech, expressing his sincerest congratulations to the graduates on behalf of the Saint Lucia government and thanking NPUST for its long-term cultivation and dedication to Saint Lucia students. The ambassador encouraged the graduates to be true to themselves, put what they have learned into practice, and bring positive change to the world. He congratulated the graduates from St. Lucia and praised them for traveling thousands of miles, overcoming challenges, completing four years of university courses, and acquiring life experience—adding that “today is a brand new beginning. Learning never stops. The world needs you. Please use your abilities and knowledge to make the world a better place.”
The NPUST International College was established in 1998 and has trained more than 500 students from over 50 countries over the years. This year’s graduates come from 15 countries, including Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland, Indonesia, India, Ethiopia, Honduras, Belize, Tanzania, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Myanmar, accounting for more than 55% of the total students graduating from the college this year. The ceremony was hosted by bilingual students from Taiwan and Haiti. Their lively hosting style highlighted the diversity and integration of the International College and left unforgettable memories for those attending the event.
