As Taiwan’s reputation for high-quality higher education continues to spread internationally, its education sector has become one of the main driving forces in the country’s economic growth. In recent years, Taiwan has become the first choice to study abroad for students from many Southeast Asian countries. In 2023, the number of overseas students studying in Taiwan exceeded 110,000 and students from Thailand reached a record high of 6,118. As Taiwan’s sixth largest source of overseas students, Thailand and Taiwan enjoy close cooperation and frequent exchanges in the field of education. In addition to jointly promoting various scholarship programs and sending Thai university lecturers to Taiwan to study master’s and doctoral degrees, together they are promoting the International Industry-Academia Collaboration Program to provide Thai students with more practical training opportunities in Taiwan.
Taiwan’s high-quality learning environment allows students to improve their English and Chinese language skills as they enrich their international cultural experience and cultivate skills to become more competitive in the job market. Taiwan warmly welcomes Thai students to come for studies, and hopes to see more Thai talent with Chinese language skills join its companies in the near future!
