The 2023 Higher Education Sprout Project Achievements Exhibition and U-Life Market were held on November 25th in conjunction with the NPUST’s 99th anniversary celebrations. The fruitful results of the past year were on display in the Library and Exhibition Hall and on its north parking lot. NPUST President was joined by faculty and community partners for a tour through the exhibits which showcased some of the remarkable strengths of NPUST’s teaching, research and interactions with local businesses and communities. A total of 13 like-minded local partners who work with NPUST on university and corporate social responsibility (USR x CSR) projects were represented at the activity.
Sharing some remarks, NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang said: “today, NPUST ‘s teams and their community partners jointly pledge to become a standard for university social responsibility. Through social services, the university and her partners will get more actively involved in environmental protection, green campus promotion, and community development. Guided by ESG, USR and CSR philosophies, we will work with community partners to build a sustainable, inclusive and prosperous society.”
In the library, the results exhibition displayed the four major aspects of the Higher Education Sprout Project, with teams using interactive experiences and physical explanations to help the visitors understand the work they are doing. Among the exhibitors, Associate Professor Wan-Yu Chou presented on horticultural therapy, Assistant Professor Kuo-Chan Tseng shared results on his team’s coffee research with DIY coffee brewing, and Assistant Professor Pearl Pei-Chun Chang held DIY activities to teach about edible fungi. Other exhibitors shared on physical fitness technology, simulated aircraft operations, giant 3D printing, wood design work and much more. Over in the parking lot, thirteen community partners who are working with NPUST on USR projects set up the “U-life Market” to present and sell the products they have developed through the cooperative projects.
