The Executive MBA (EMBA) softball team of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) has achieved another glorious milestone! On October 17–18, 2026, the team competed in the National EMBA Slow-Pitch Softball Invitational Tournament hosted by National Taipei University of Technology. Through intense competitive matchups, NPUST successfully defended its national championship title, securing back-to-back victories. In the high-stakes final game against a strong rival team from Feng Chia University, both sides were locked in a fiercely contested battle tied at 12–12 going into the final inning. Demonstrating incredible perseverance and focus, the NPUST players delivered a clutch walk-off hit to seal a thrilling 13–12 victory. The team proudly brought the championship banner back to campus, bringing great honor to NPUST.
Before setting off, the team received the university flag from Deng-Neng Chen, Dean of the College of Management. The delegation was led by EMBA Executive Director Wen-Hsi Lydia Hsu, alongside Team Director Chun-Ming Lu, Head Coach Wei-Lung Hsu, and Coach Wen-Yu Hsiao, who jointly guided the team with strong tactical leadership and fostered exceptional team chemistry. Facing a grueling schedule of seven high-intensity games over two days, the players demonstrated superb athletic discipline—waking up around 4:00 AM every morning to prepare, overcoming physical strain, and adapting skillfully to on-field pressure. More than just a test of athletic prowess, this tournament serves as a premier platform for inter-university exchanges among EMBA programs across Taiwan, strengthening cross-institutional friendships, teamwork, and the bond between alumni and their alma mater. Furthermore, the team’s outstanding performance brought together generous financial support from faculty and alumni, logistical backing from support staff, and enthusiastic cheering from families, showcasing the strong foundation and solidarity of the NPUST EMBA program.
Claiming the national championship for two consecutive years is both an immense honor for the NPUST EMBA softball team and a driving force for continuous improvement. This championship trophy is not only the result of the players’ hard-fought efforts on the field, but also a monument to the collective dedication of the entire team. Looking to the future, the NPUST EMBA softball team hopes to carry forward this athletic spirit, targeting a “three-peat” championship next year to permanently keep the championship banner at NPUST and continue making brilliant achievements for the university!
