In order to help students seize employment opportunities amidst the shifting tide of industry trends, National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) held the “2026 Campus Recruitment Fair” on May 6th under the theme of “Igniting the Youth and Leaping into the Future.” The event served as a critical matchmaking platform that allowed campus talent to connect with high-quality enterprises. Supported with funding from the Kaohsiung-Pingtung-Penghu-Taitung Regional Branch of the Workforce Development Agency (Ministry of Labor), the fair featured over 160 companies.
Distinguished guests, including Director Keng-Hua Kuo of the Regional Workforce Development Branch; Deputy Director Shu-Chen Su of the Pingtung Department of Labor and Youth Development; Director Ching-Fu Chen of the NPUST Alumni Cultural and Educational Foundation; and Group Chief Marketing Officer Pao-Ling Chang of 104 Job Bank, attended the opening ceremony.
In his opening remarks, NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang emphasized that “the university is dedicated to cultivating professional and technical talent, and through years of industry-academia collaboration and talent training, NPUST has bridged the gap between education and industry”. He expressed gratitude to central and local governments for their support, as well as to the numerous premium employers providing diverse job opportunities to students looking to explore career paths and transition into the workforce. President Chang also announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with 104 Job Bank, Taiwan’s leading job-search platform, to establish an exclusive “Campus Recruitment Zone” for NPUST. This portal will be featured on the NPUST official homepage, providing students with the most comprehensive and up-to-date recruitment database to find their ideal positions.
The ceremony opened with an energetic performance by the NPUST Hip-Hop Street Dance Club, symbolizing the momentum of the younger generation bravely facing career challenges. The event integrated industry, government, and academic resources to help both graduating and current students to transition smoothly from the campus environment to the professional world.
The recruitment fair attracted over 160 companies, offering more than 5,000 job opportunities through both on-site recruitment and extended digital channels. Participating industry giants included ASE, Orient Semiconductor Electronics (OSE), Super Qin Group, Uni-President Superior Commissary Corp, Charoen Pokphand Enterprise (Taiwan), Wei Chuan Foods Corporation, Great Wall Enterprises, Known-You Seed, CTCI, China Steel Corporation, Yieh Phui Enterprise, Fu Tsu Construction, Te Chang Construction, AIDC, TCI, SyneuRx International, Wowprime, Sushi Express, Ambassador Hotel, and Decathlon. Vacancies spanned diverse sectors including smart agriculture, high-tech manufacturing, civil engineering, food retail, medical biotechnology, and hospitality.
During the event, NPUST signed an MOU with 104 Job Bank, becoming the first university of science and technology in Taiwan to partner with the platform to build a dedicated “Campus Recruitment Zone.” This platform integrates internal and external recruitment resources and provides free access to career services and online courses from the 104 Career Academy. Furthermore, 104 Job Bank will assist in bringing industry lecturers to campus for career seminars and workshops, further enriching the university’s career development resources and enhancing students’ overall competitiveness.
Committed to being a strong support system for students at the start of their careers, at the event NPUST also featured a “Career Counseling Service Zone,” where certified experts provided one-on-one career planning advice. These professional consultants helped students and graduates analyze their personal traits and workplace advantages, helping them clarify their career positioning and strengthen their preparation for the job market.
The fair also included practical booths showcasing student achievements. The Department of Fashion Design and Management offered manicure experiences, accessory displays, and eyebrow shaping services, demonstrating the university’s focus on practical skills and employability. To add to the lively atmosphere, the event featured early-bird prizes and a lucky draw with rewards including an iPad, Apple Watch SE, AirPods 4, and various gift certificates.
Leading up to the event, the NPUST Office of Career Development launched a graduation recruitment series in March and organized several corporate briefings featuring major companies such as TSMC, China Steel, PepsiCo Taiwan, Uni-President, ASE, and ID Water. These briefings allow students to engage directly with industry professionals to understand core competency requirements and the practical operations of various roles. By facilitating these face-to-face interactions, NPUST is working to ensure that students can smoothly transition into the workforce and become a driving force for industrial innovation.
