NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang Leads Delegation to Malaysia for the 2nd Agriculture, Forestry, Fishery, and Animal Husbandry Exhibition

From March 13 to 16 (2026), president Chin-Lung Chang of National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) led a delegation to Batu Pahat, Malaysia to participate in the 2nd Agriculture, Forestry, Fishery, and Animal Husbandry Exhibition. Hosted by the NPUST Alumni Association of Malaysia, the event served as a platform to showcase the university’s achievements in agricultural technology, animal biotechnology education and R&D, while further expanding its international cooperation network in Southeast Asia.

INTEGRATION OF HERITAGE AND INNOVATION

At the exhibition, the university set up a dedicated booth centered on the theme of “A Century of Agriculture, Technological Innovation and International Connectivity”. Graphic designs were used to highlight NPUST’s professional expertise across the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, animal husbandry, and veterinary medicine.

The exhibition covered several key fields of expertise, including:

  • Smart Agriculture and Precision Cultivation
  • Forest Management and Ecological Sustainability
  • Aquatic Technology
  • Agricultural Processing and Food Safety
  • Smart Livestock Management
  • Animal Vaccine R&D and Disease Diagnosis

The related exhibits provided a comprehensive look at the university’s “one-stop” professional system, spanning everything from primary production to epidemic prevention.

KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE AND GLOBAL RECRUITMENT

During the event, the faculty members in the delegation delivered specialized presentations, sharing NPUST’s practical experience in smart agriculture applications, animal disease prevention technology, and industry-academia collaboration. These sessions attracted significant interest from local industry representatives, academics, and the general public and provided an opportunity to enhance the university’s international visibility and lay a foundation for future technical cooperation.

The delegation also actively promoted international recruitment. They introduced various enrollment pathways, including English-taught programs and the Overseas Youth Vocational Programs, to attract students from Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.

NPUST has a long-standing commitment to talent cultivation in the region, and over the years it has produced numerous outstanding alumni who now play vital roles in local industries and serve as critical links between Taiwan and Southeast Asia. The delegation also attended the “NPUST Night” alumni dinner to reconnect with graduates in Malaysia and strengthen the bonds within the alumni community.

FUTURE OUTLOOK: SUSTAINABLE GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS

Moving forward, NPUST will continue to deepen its cooperation with Southeast Asia in agricultural technology and animal biotechnology. By integrating industry and academic resources, the university aims to address global challenges such as food security and sustainable development.

Through the exhibition and exchange, NPUST not only demonstrated its century-old foundation in agricultural education and its latest technological innovations but also reinforced its international links. The university remains dedicated to cultivating professional talent with a global perspective and hands-on practical capabilities.
