College of Engineering Recognizes Hsueh-Lung Liao as Outstanding Alumni

The NPUST College of Engineering has recognized Hsueh-Lung Liao as an “Outstanding Alumni” for his contributions to the domestic automobile industry. Liao, who serves as deputy-general manager at the Automotive Research and Testing Center, returned to his Alma Mater on Labor Day (May 1st,2024) to accept the Outstanding Alumni Certificate. On the same day, he was also invited to give a presentation on “Smart Electric Vehicles Development Trends” for teachers and students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

Sun-Li Wu, the director of the Department of Mechanical Engineering represented the Dean of the College of Engineering to present the Outstanding Alumni Certificate to Hsueh-Lung Liao. Director Wu said that Liao graduated from department more than 30 years ago, and during his 19 years of service at the Automotive Research and Testing Center, he has been responsible for work at the component testing laboratory and has been involved in automotive electronics research and development. Liao also executed the Ministry of Economic Affairs “Key Technologies for Smart Vehicles Project”, and transferred the results from their research and development to the industrial sector. Liao later established a joint venture with Whetron Electronics Co., Ltd., Lioho Machine Works Ltd. and the Automotive Research and Testing Center, which resulted in the establishment Win Wise Tech Co., Ltd. in 2016, where he serves as deputy general manager and director.
