3DFamily Technology Donates AI Training Software

3DFamily Technology Co., Ltd has donated 450 sets of VisLab AI training software to National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) for teaching and research applications. A donation ceremony was held on March 4 (2024) at the school’s Administrative Building, with 3DFamily Chairman Chih-ching Hsu and NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang each representing their organizations for the occasion. Former NPUST President Shan-Da Liu, current Vice-President for Education Shang-Min Ma, Provost Wei-Hua Lu, College of Management Vice-Dean Deng-Neng Chen, and other dignitaries and colleagues both from inside and outside the university were present to witnessed the event.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the university, President Chin-Lung Chang said “in order to cultivate students’ practical skills in cross-field applications such as basic programming, data analysis, and artificial intelligence, our school offers compulsory basic courses on computational thinking and information technology applications, as well as a series of advanced AI elective courses. We also hold relevant competitions on special topic every year to promote the university’s educational goal of integrating AI learning and application.”

During the donation ceremony, President Chin-Lung Chang issued a certificate of thanks to Chairman Chih-ching Hsu, and expressed his gratitude to 3DFamily for the 450 sets of VisLab AI training software. He noted that the donation would help students more easily integrate AI-related knowledge and conduct cross-field learning and application. The software will be used for teaching and research at NPUST, and allow teachers and students to further implement and develop smart agriculture, smart manufacturing, AI robots, and business intelligence. Ultimately, it will be a powerful tool for cultivating the cross-field talent that society will need in the future. 3DFamily Chairman Chih-ching Hsu remarked that “AI technology is bound to be widely used in the future, so everyone needs to plan ahead of time and learn as early as possible. We hope that this donation will be used by educators to cultivate more talent, and enable students to be more competent and adaptable to the new AI technology when they enter the job market.” In addition, Former NPUST President Shan-Da Liu, who was responsible for the matchmaking between the two parties, said: “I am very happy to see that NPUST can obtain these advantageous resources. We hope that all the departments will have the opportunity to integrate AI, and make full use of this software.”
