Taiwan’s China Motor Corporation (CMC) donated a brand new Zinger Pickup and electric motorcycle to the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) Department of Vehicle Engineering for teaching, practical training, and research purposes.
The practical courses at NPUST are designed so that students are able to quickly adapt to the needs of industry when they enter the job place. With such aims in mind, the two new vehicles were donated to be used by teachers and students for practice, observation and research.
A donation ceremony was held on December 29, 2023 at the square in front of the NPUST Administrative Building, with CMC Department Director Hsiu-Hong Chang and NPUST President Chin-Lung Chang present for the occasion.
Accepting the donation, President Chin-Lung Chang said “in response to electric vehicle trends in the industry, the Department of Vehicle Engineering has been offering many courses that combine professional technologies such as autonomous driving, and smart electromechanics, system design, and energy application to help students learn advanced electric vehicle-related knowledge”. Thanking CMC, he added that the “Zinger Pickup and electric motorcycle would help teachers and students learn practical skills more effectively by allowing them to train on different vehicle models in their practical operations classes.”
CMC Department Director Hsiu-Hong Chang said he “hopes that the teaching resources donated by CMC will not only improve education, but also allow for better exchange of professional knowledge related to the automotive industry so that the two parties can learn from each other’s progress.”
