Alumni Association of NPUST Holds 2nd Calligraphy Competition

As National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) looks forward to its centenary anniversary, the Alumni Association of NPUST held the 2nd Calligraphy Competition Selection and Awards Ceremony on December 22nd (2023) at the Library and Exhibition Hall. The activity serves as a networking channel for faculty, students, and alumni of the school by allowing them to connect with one another while promoting calligraphy, culture and art. Three judges were specially invited to decide the winners of the competition, including Chien-Fa Lin, founder of the Pingtung Chinese Calligraphy Research Association, Gong-he Huang the second chairman of their board of directors, and Wu-Shiun Tsai of the Sino-Japanese International Cultural Exchange Review Committee.

A total of 13 current students, 6 alumni, and 6 faculty members were selected for excellent works. These will be displayed on the 1st floor of the Library and Exhibition Hall from December 22nd to January 5th.

In June of this year, the Alumni Association of NPUST facilitated the establishment of the NPUST Calligraphy Club, which is now 14 members strong. Also, thanks to their promotional efforts, this year’s calligraphy competition saw a significant rise in submissions over last year’s.
