Treasure Island & Yooooko Manga Exhibition Hosted at NPUST Library

Teachers, students and the general public have a chance to learn more about ‘outstanding academic contributors’ through the Treasure Island & Yooooko Manga Exhibition which is being held in the Art Center on the 3rd floor of the Library and Conference Hall from February 6th to April 21st, 2023.

Qing-ya Lei, who goes by the pen name Yooooko, is a Manga artist, proficient in comic creation, illustrations and other art forms. She also is a painting instructor and provides technical guidance to businesses. Her painting style is delicate and beautiful, and often integrates the diverse experiences of life that this world offers. In her manga works, Yooooko is very skilled at elucidating and depicting inner emotions and bringing in unique humanistic viewpoints to create ideological collisions and allow the conversions between characters to resonate with the readers. Her works have been affirmed through government and public sector competitions and she is recognized as the first manga artist to be stationed on Kinmen Island.

The current exhibition presents a series of Yooooko’s drawings depicting local life, historical legends, natural ecology, architecture and other features of Kinmen. Short comics and illustrations that have been created by other artists in Taiwan cultivating their skills over the past seven years are also on display. With 119 works in total, all those who are interested are welcomed to come and enjoy a rich feast of manga and appreciate the beauty of Formosa and Kinmen as interpreted by the artists.
