The Year of the Tiger officially arrived and the New Year kicked off with a happy nine-day holiday. This week, however, businesses are re-opening and everyone is heading back to work. At the NPUST, as per custom, the president welcomed back his colleagues with a “Spring Festival blessing”. On February 8, staff members gathered together and President Tai wished them all “safety, happiness and ‘tiger’ (which sounds like blessing)”. The event was held in the Meng Xiang Gymnasium with children from the NPUST kindergarten invited in to show off a wonderful and playful lion dance performance. The lovely display, full of color and “tiger spirit”, won everyone over and was a perfect prelude to the new year.
President Tai delivered a speech, commenting that “under the shadow of the epidemic, it is impossible for everyone to be as happy as they were during New Years in former times; but I still hope that everyone will maintain an optimistic and positive attitude as we face the new year. I wish everyone good luck, I wish the school a prosperous new year, and I wish academic progress for students.”
This year, the Human Resources Office specially prepared epidemic prevention gift packages, hoping that everyone will continue to work together for epidemic prevention. All the faculty and staff congratulated the principal and one another for the New Year. The vibrant atmosphere and festive laughter not only brought a sense of good luck as everyone returned to work, but also signified prosperity and good omens for the year ahead.
